Sincette
The essence of Le Sincette is vividly portrayed through its label, adorned with a map intricately drawn by Jean Blanchaert. The colorful depiction showcases the estate's holistic approach to farming, blending grapevines and olive groves harmoniously, alongside illustrations of indigenous plants and animals.
Symbolized by a coiled motif representing the lunar phases, Le Sincette signifies its deep-rooted commitment to environmental sustainability. Pioneering biodynamic practices since 1997 under Jacques Mell's guidance, Le Sincette obtained organic and Demeter certifications in subsequent years, affirming its dedication to ethical agriculture. Situated in Brescia's Valtenesi region, renowned for the Groppello grape varieties, including Groppello Gentile, the estate also cultivates Marzemino, Barbera, Sangiovese, Rebo, and Merlot. Notably, its Chiaretto rosato, known as "vino di una notte," echoes centuries-old production methods.
Acquiring the farm in 1978, the Brunori family meticulously restored its ancient structures, preserving the winery underground to honor its heritage. Utilizing native yeast fermentations and aging wines in used wood and concrete, Le Sincette crafts approachable yet captivating wines that authentically reflect the estate's vibrant spirit and dedication to tradition.
