Torre a Cona
A gorgeous 17th Century Villa nestled amidst the hills south of Florence is the backdrop of one of the most exciting Sangiovese-focused projects in the whole Chianti region. While Sangiovese has been grown in these lands for time immemorial, the Rossi di Montelera Family has committed itself to studying this finicky and temperamental variety in order to yield the best possible fruit farming with sustainable, environmentally sound practices. Re-defining Chianti by the way of an extreme focus on its main grape variety, Torre a Cona represents one of the most serious and successful efforts to highlight Sangiovese’s inherent greatness and unique personality. Their Chianti and Chianti Riserva represent some of the purest and most authentic expressions of this quintessentially Tuscan grape variety.

Vermouth Rosso
Inspired by the original 1920 proprietary recipe from the Counts Rossi di Montelera family (the same Rossi of Martini&Rossi, and owners of Torre a Cona since 1935), this delightful Vermouth is based on Sangiovese from Badia a Corte, one of Torre a Cona’s best single vineyards. A blend of 33 different botanicals and spices (to name a few: rosemary, pink pepper, marjoram, clove, wormwood, cinnamon…) adds a mediterranean character and a unique, soul-warming flavor profile. Best enjoyed as an aperitif or after-dinner with a big ice cube and an orange zest, it will also elevate any Negroni to a whole new level.
